My name is Zainab. I was born and raised in Karachi,
Pakistan. I was eighteen years old when I moved to America as a bride. Eight
years ago, I became a single parent. I have two daughters. After my divorced
happened I went back to school 13 years after I graduated high school. First I
went to Parkland College and got my Associates Degree but the closer I was to
getting my associates degree the more I wanted to continue my education. Before
I knew it, I was in Eastern Illinois University. Two years ago, I graduated
with a Bachelors degree and now I am working in school as a Teaching
assistant!
Since I was a teen I started writing in my journal and now I am
forty and still passionate about it. I have written many personal stories and
have also published online and in other papers. Writing has been helping me to
understand who I am, and also about others. I was born in Pakistan as a Muslim but
since I moved to the States, slowly but surely I have been seeing change in me.
I try my best not to judge anyone but give them the benefit of the doubt. I
look at people beyond religion and skin color. We are all a part of the human
race and underneath it all, our needs and desires are similar I am a
very friendly person, and I enjoy interacting with people.
Have a great one!
